    WHEN: August 27-30, 2001

The latest developments in IEEE 1394 (FireWire/i.Link) technology
will be on the floor of the semi-annual Intel Developers' Forum,

-- LSI Logic will present a comprehensive interoperability
demonstration featuring a pair of Sony PlayStation(R) 2
machines playing Gran Turismo 3 using an i.Link head-to-head
format. The network also will show the capabilities of LSI
Logic's fully-interoperable PHY core, as well as a PC running

while the PlayStation 2 systems compete.

"This demonstration highlights the 1394 interoperability of
the PlayStations in a common network configuration," said Matt
            Pujol, LSI Logic's 1394 Product Manager. "LSI Logic's 1394
CoreWare silicon powers the interface in the PlayStation 2."

feature two computers transmitting fully 1394b compatible, 800
Mbps packets using 1394b cables from Molex, Inc. A 1394b Data
Analyzer from Yokogawa Corporation will be connected to the
two computers to validate 1394b data transmission. TI will
also showcase the devices' ability to be fully backward
compatible with the existing IEEE 1394a-2000 standard.
